Platypuses are peaceful animals with very few enemies. The main harm
to them
is caused by pollution and too many people moving in on their homes. Platypuses have been around for THOUSANDS of years. They wear some of the first mammals. Usually a mother lays between 1 and three eggs. When they hatch the babies are around they size of your pinky finger! Adult platypuses are usually somewhere between 4 and 8 pounds. They also grow to about two feet in length. |
