James Allen

James first began working at Brooks School Summer Programs in 2006 and now leads the team of Summer Term instructors. James has been an English teacher for sixteen years and has been working with children since he was twelve. In high school and college, James was a camp counselor, swim teacher, and tennis instructor. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in English/journalism and was a newspaper reporter for four years before returning to earn his Master’s degree in education from UNH, and later, a school principal’s certificate through Salem State University. During the school year, James teaches English and journalism classes at Triton High School in Byfield. In his free time, James loves skiing, hiking, and camping with his wife and two children, and coaches as many of his son and daughter’s sports teams as he can.
