FAQs

How many weeks should I sign my child up for?

While we offer programs that run for one or two weeks, most families choose to enroll their children for four weeks or more. Each week at Brooks presents unique experiences that will engage and inspire your camper, regardless of their age. A longer stay allows campers to remain in the same group with consistent staff members, fostering stronger relationships and enhancing their camp experience. Please note that campers can only begin sessions during designated weeks, ensuring continuity and connection

Are swim lessons available?

Absolutely! Our Day Camp includes a daily Instructional Swim block, designed around the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. These lessons are held in our two outdoor pools and are led by certified lifeguard/swim instructors. In addition to instructional swim, all Day Campers enjoy a daily “Free Swim” period in the afternoon. No need to worry if your child isn’t a strong swimmer—we conduct assessments on the first day to ensure everyone receives the appropriate level of instruction.

What is your camper-to-counselor ratio?

At Brooks School Summer Programs, each group is led by two counselors (ages 16 and older) and overseen by a Group Coordinator, who is a professional educator. Typically, each group consists of 8 to 16 campers, depending on their age. Your child will remain with this dedicated team of counselors throughout the day and will also interact with our activity counselors, who are program instructors for various activities.

With over 130 staff members employed, we prioritize thorough supervision and support across all programs and locations, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for every camper.

Do I need to pack a lunch or snacks?

No need to worry about packing meals! Lunch is included in our program, and we also provide a morning snack and an afternoon treat. Fresh water is available at all times through various filling stations located throughout the property, and we’ll even provide your camper with a special label for their water bottle. For detailed information about food ingredients, please visit our dining services page.

What will my child do at camp when it rains?

Rest assured, we have ample space to keep all campers safe and engaged during rainy weather. One of the many advantages of attending Brooks School Summer Programs is full access to our state-of-the-art facilities. Our campus features an impressive athletic complex, well-equipped classrooms, and unique indoor spaces, ensuring that the fun continues regardless of the weather.

If conditions permit and it’s safe to be outside (no thunder or lightning), we embrace the rain and enjoy outdoor activities! So even when the skies are gray, your child will have a fantastic experience at camp.

When may I register?

Registration opens for all families on Monday, January 20, at 10:00 a.m.

Is financial aid available?

At Brooks School, we collaborate with local organizations and schools to provide “camperships” and camp-tuition assistance. However, we do not offer individual financial aid directly to families. To make our camp more accessible, we offer flexible payment plans at no additional cost, which can be selected during the registration process.

I don’t see the program I am looking for. Can you help?

Our registration system displays only the programs for which your child is eligible, based on their age and grade. If you have specific questions or need assistance finding the right program, please reach out to us, and we’ll be happy to help!

What is the waitlist status?

When a program reaches capacity, this is clearly indicated in the registration portal. If you choose to join the waitlist, a member of our team will contact you if a spot becomes available. Please note that waitlist statuses may fluctuate until the program’s start date, so we recommend checking back for updates.

How much is due at the time of registration?

To secure your enrollment, a deposit of $100 is required for each week or Summer Term class.

What is your refund policy?

Tuition is refundable for cancellations received by the School before May 15, 2025. However, for cancellations made on or after May 15, 2025, no refund, proration, credit, or tuition reduction will be issued, regardless of the reason. Participants who start a Summer Program session late, leave early, or miss days—whether due to rule violations, medical reasons, or personal choice—will also not receive any refunds or credits. Please note that deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, including between sessions and participants.
